The One Sentence Audrey Tang Chose | EVER WORD
When I reached out to Minister Audrey Tang to ask for her "one essential sentence," she personally responded to my email. Instead of a simple text, she specifically identified and shared this particular moment from her speech as the message she wishes to convey. This video presents the exact segment she selected herself. Subtitles available in 10 languages. Tony #1: What he kept protecting while picking up trash.
This interview features Tony, a 71-year-old man who has been living on the streets in Manila for the past five years. I have met him four times, and he has never asked me for money. He supports himself by collecting recyclable materials and selling them. The content of the video may feel dark. For that reason, I would like to add some context about his current situation. I provided the funds for him to return to his hometown. I am also providing his daily food. I also proposed that if he were willing to help with my project, EVER WORD, I could provide him with a place to stay. However, he has stated that he plans to return to his hometown in January next year. As a friend, I will continue to support him to the best of my ability until he returns to his hometown.

Tony #2: Finding hope again after the New Year
In December 2025, I met Antonio "Tony" Castro on the streets of Pasay. He spoke of "living with dignity" despite his circumstances. After providing support for his journey back to his family in Pampanga, I believed he had begun his new life in his hometown. However, the story took an unexpected turn. Why did he return to the very spot where we first met? What happened after his homecoming? This video documents the raw reality of the path to independence—a journey that often requires more than just a single step. Experience the truth of resilience as I continue to record the lives of one million people for the EVER WORD project. Watch the first interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cg-sq7prB2U

Tony #3: A new beginning for the man of dignity
"A promise kept is the sign of a true friend." In this final chapter of the trilogy, Tony prepares to leave the streets of Pasay to return to his hometown. Throughout our encounters, despite the hunger and hardship he faced, not once did he ask for money. He only asked for dignity. I have provided him with the travel expenses to return home and the startup capital to launch his new business—selling fish. This is not just financial aid; it is the fulfillment of a promise made between friends and a bridge to a life of independence. His EVER WORD remains: "ay yung mabuhay ako ng marangal" (To live with dignity). We cannot save everyone in the world. But we are committed to changing the lives of those who share their soul with "EVER WORD."
